aulie
Aulea is born on the shores of Galahd in ME 708, and immediately her wanderlust is obvious. She's walking by one, and climbing before then.
By ME 715, Gregoir is recalled to Insomnia, and takes his very Galahdian family with him. Fidelyx causes several minor scandals, and remains a fond memory in the hearts of several generations of artists and ex-pats for founding the Couerl's Whiskers.
Aulea, ever the wild-hearted, was home-schooled and therefore accompanied both Fidelyx and Gregoir to their workplaces. The weavers and spinners at the Couerl's Whisker called her their 'golden girl' - a good luck totem. It was there that Aulea learned to sit and listen, to absorb information and file it away - lessons that would come in handy when Gregoir took her to the Citadel.
It was Gregoir who advocated for establishing closer links with the outlying regions of Lucis - and at that time, he was perhaps the only one who took such a position. But Mors thought it not worth his time, and exiled the carefully-prepared reports to the filing cabinets after only a cursory glance.
Indeed, it was only Aulea's presence as Gregoir's shadow that kept the mercurial monarch from dismissing the diplomat's position entirely. Mors was many things (beloved by his people was not one), but he perhaps saw something in Aulea that would complement Regis.

Clarus Amicitia, 17 and still growing into his body, keeps an eye on the two as they chatter about nothing and everything. His aunt, Mors' Shield, has warned him to keep a close eye on any who get close to the Prince, and he intends to obey her. She's scary.
ME 719. Naval skirmishes with Niflheim forces increase as Galdin Quay becomes more popular with Leide locals trying to escape the summer heat. As per King [Mors' Mother]'s instructions, these are countermeasures only, designed to stop Niflheim for destroying Lucis's fishing fleets. Crownsguard recruitment skyrockets amongst continuing tensions.
Aulea is taken back to Galahd for the last time, and experiences her first - and last - Walk. Gregoir Walks with them, and despite being struck by lightning, survives the experience. Fidelyx is given a chunk of thunderbolt iron by a wise woman, and a warning. Almost as soon as they arrive back in Insomnia, Aulea is thrown headfirst into training.
ME 720. Gregoir passes away due to heart complications due to being struck by lightning. As per Galahdian traditions, he is burned and scattered to the sea, along with as many of his worldly possessions as possible. Fidelyx devotes herself to the Couerl's Whisker, trying to work through her grief.
Aulea attends school, doing exceptionally well, and continues to meet Regis and Clarus on and off. For her 12th birthday she is presented with a saber and a pair of kukri knives; a sign that within the Galadhian community, at least, she is considered an adult.
Given the fact that she was homeschooled by a diplomat and an exceptionally bright and well-connected auteur, she is able to test up to what is essentially the final years of schooling.
ME 721. Aulea completes her schooling with honours, and despite offers from several well-placed noble-owned businesses, she returns to the Couerl's Whiskers and takes up a weaving apprenticeship under Madam Haran-Leonis. There she meets 10-year-old Cor Leonis, and they become fast friends.
Mors lowers the minimum age requirement to join the Crownsguard to 14, and then to 12. Cor is ready and eager to join, but Aulie is cautious, recommending that he spend more time honing his skills before joining up. She grows distant from the Citadel, partially due to politics but also due to Regis's increasing duties as Crown Prince.
Queen Chantuelle passes away in winter, and the Crown declares 3 days of mourning. Almost immediately, rumours about the nature of her and Mors' relationship begin to swirl. Mors' shield becomes frosty, and appears to distance herself from her charge.

Crownsguard recruitment skyrockets as a result, and production of war material kicks into high gear. Niflheim magitek begins to be the stuff of nightmares for the crown, as spies report the inauguration of Chancellor Izunia.

Of course, that plan comes to a screeching halt when the Regalia hits a Dualhorn.
